App was good before & now just about perfect. Highly recommend.

The Fun Golf GPS is excellent. The power usage is very efficient and does not drain the batteries on either the Apple Watch 2 or the iPhone. The features and graphics are excellent. For example, you can set an option on the iPhone GPS to show the golf course just ahead of you. It then recommends an intermediate distance with a short iron when it calculates that you cannot reach the green with a fairway wood. My friend described the app as my personal caddie.

The app was expensive enough now they are charging a subscription. Lame. 7 out of 10 courses are not even on here.

I bit the bullet and chose to pay the mandatory astronomical price for the app, but as soon as I did, I did not find the price so crazy. A LOT of love and work went into this app. The watch works seamlessly with it (OG model). The 3D models are great. My friend and I were gawking at its abilities. I love the fact that you can record the shot to get accurate distance averages for each club (although it was hard to figure out how to use at first). I love that it suggest the club at the start of each hole. The bad is that there are a few bugs. The watch and the phone app did not track which hole I was on, as it was supposed to. In scorecard mode, it did not change to the hole I had selected in the map view. Whichever hole I choose on the scorecard should show when I hit the map button. I wish you could also tell it if you had a mishit instead so that it would still record the distance and count the shot, but not count the distance in the club average. So much potential for this app. Happy I paid the money for the lifetime, and I cant wait for the future updates/enhancements they come up with.

All that this needs is front/middle/back readings on the watch.

I understand the good and bad ratings. Ive had this app for almost 4 years and dont remember if it was advertised as free initially. But it definitely should not be adversised as free if customers cant use any functionalities for free. That is definitely misleading. One of the PROs to this app is that this app is the only app that offers a lifetime subscription compared to the other apps I downloaded when I first started playing golf. I refuse to keep paying money into an app to continue using it. A CON to this app is that iOS 3 on the Apple Watch drains the battery watch fast. I dont know what the difference between other users and me but the battery drains fast on both my Apple Watch Series 1 and 2. Overall, the battery is far superior on the Series 2 but my watch cannot stand up to the Fun Golf App. Today I went from 100 percent to 37 after using it for one round. I was origially going to write Shot Tracking as a CON but I never knew they had a User Guide until tonight. I looked for it prior to writing this review. The User Guide must be read (in my opinion) prior to using Shot Tracking. I think the stats the app gives you after a round are amazing. Unfortunately some of mine were always wrong because I was inputting my shots wrong. A CON to the shot tracking also is that it automatically selects a club. Oftentimes it would auto-select a club that I wasnt using. Id go in and change the club and the app would change the club back. I want to get this right but oftentimes Ill just not use shot tracking during the round. Customer service is a PRO. Ive contacted them a few times to get a course updated etc. and they were always responsive. The respective course got updated each and every time. Graphics is a PRO. You can see from some of the screenshots. Its not a Google Map, etc. thats hard to distinguish one hole from another if youre playing on a links style course. In summary, Ive tried other apps but Ive kept coming back to this one. This is my favorite and I recommend. Detailed Shot Tracking can be challenging and it drains the battery on both series of the Apple Watch but this app is a must. Graphics are remarkable. I like the color codes on the scorecard. Ive played golf around the world and this app has had every course. I paid $40 (at the time) for the lifetime membership. I think I paid another fee for use with the Apple Watch. Customer Service is excellent and always responsive.

I researched all the golf apps for my new watch 2. You really could not tell on any of the apps, even including this particular app, whether there was a picture of the hole you were playing on the watch. I wanted more than just yardage. The picture is great for each hole, and you touch your watch to actually move the lines (and get exact yardage) wherever on the course you want to hit to. It worked perfectly!!! I absolutely loved it. My watch still had juice at the end of the day, even after playing golf with it and turning the meter for exercise on and running.

Crap failed 4 times to download a course after 80% at high speed. Do not even deserve a single star

This app is quite useful. I have been using a google maps type program which is also very good, but I couldnt believe how useful the 3D view is for previewing a course and planning course strategy. The Augusta and Pine Valley course renderings are awesome, even if you never get to play them. Overall, I think the app is almost there, maybe 1 or 2 updates away.

A very good tool for the golf course. Good features for 2D, 3D course layout and very good statics tracking. You need a few rounds with the app to get used to what features do you really want/need. If you are not careful, you can become a "slave" to the app recording shots, changing clubs that you truly hit and tracking everything that the tool can do. Even with these warnings, it is a very good course and accurate GPS aide. Highly recommended.

Installed all of my courses easily. Great for travel, added new courses in a snap without any data/roaming issues. Love the graphics and overall very well done.

Amazing app. Tried a whole bunch on the app store, but this one is hands down the best. The 3D course view is truly excellent and really helps get better playing perspective on your distance, location and lie. Great job guys!

Great golf GPS app. Tried many other paid versions and wasnt a fan of the look and feel and easy of use.

Doesnt have any golf course are the Thunder Bay Area. Plenty of gold courses around the district but not available. Just deleted and will try again in the future

It does not have Willow Creek in Lakeshore, ON which has existed for many years. It has Lakewood in Tecumseh, ON which has been closed for a few years.

The two main courses I play in Kelowna BC are not included: Mission Creek and the Kelowna Golf and Country Club.

Has local courses

This wouldve been awesome as a handheld golf game, but alas... Just a tool. For real golfers. Lame.

Had this game for a week now and still have not figured out how to do the simplest thing -- hit the ball! None of the obvious things work. If theres some trick to playing this game, how about including a tutorial or some sort of explanation? I cant understand how this made it as editors choice. Im uninstalling it now.
